CABIN, YURT & TEE PEE DESCRIPTIONS! CABINS - These rustic cabins were built between 1900 and 1950, many of them during the Works Progress Administration of the 1930's. Remodeled between 2003 & 2006 these historic cabins provide the western traveler a chance to soak up the beauty of the area while remaining comfortable. Every cabin contains new beds & mattresses, lights, power outlets, fresh linens & pillows and shower towels. Each cabin has a breathtaking view of the Colorado River right outside the door. The cabins are cool and shady for the summer sun & individually heated for the winter chill. YURTS - The yurt is the traditional dwelling of nomadic Mongols and Turkic peoples in Siberia, Mongolia, China, and Central Asia. These modern versions are built with NASA technology to keep the elements out and a comfortable climate in. Yurts 1 - 6 are located behind the lodge with parking steps from your door. Each yurt has a large deck overlooking the lodge and surrounding mountains. The yurts contain new mattresses, BUT YOU NEED TO BRING BEDDING AND PILLOWS! We suggest a sheet plus sleeping bag and pillow, plus a towel if you are going to use the shower. There are no bathroom facilities in the yurts but located just outside are port a johns. |
